Throughput time popup

The throughput time popup allows the user to calculate and view the throughput time between two arbitrary events.

  1. There are two options for viewing the throughput time calculation:

    • Hovering over an event in the graph and then clicking the Calculate throughput time action item calculate_throughput_time_icon.png; or

      calculate_throughput_time.png
    • Right-click on an event and select Calculate throughput time from the context menu.

  2. Clicking Calculate throughput time does three things:

    • Turns the graph into a three dimensional model

    • Creates a dotted line from the selected event with the arrow attached to the cursor.

  3. Click on another event to set the target event for the throughput time calculation. The target event is set in the Throughput Time popup.

  4. The popup window now shows the source and target event of the object.

  5. For the source event, select the object from the first dropdown. Use the second dropdown to select whether to consider the first or the last occurrence of the event within the selected object.

  6. For the target event, select the object from the first dropdown. Use the second dropdown to select whether to consider the first or the last occurrence of the event within the selected object.

    Note

If both events work on the same object type, it will be selected by default for both the source and target event. If the selected event is only included in one object, the first dropdown will be disabled and the object name will be displayed automatically.

  7. The distribution of the throughput time is displayed as a histogram. The X-axis is the duration and the Y-axis is the number of occurrences.

  8. Click outside the popup to close it.

    Note

When the popup is closed, the graph returns to the 2D mode.
