Skill Permissions

A skill is an integral part of each automation as it defines its procedure by a sequence of events. Skills consist of a sensor that triggers an arbitrary combination of automations, tasks, and alerts, meaning that setting the correct user permissions for them to perform these functions within your studio is important.

When a skill is created, both the creator and the users who have 'use' permissions to that skill can execute its function. This means that you may have to grant additional permissions where necessary. For instance, if you want your users to see tasks created from a Skill, make sure to assign your users permissions for that skill or the package containing that skill.

Skill permissions can be set on three levels:

Setting Studio-level permissions for skills

This grants the user or group permissions to use all skills available within Studio. To set these permissions:

  1. Click Admin & Settings and select Permissions.

  2. Locate the Studio permissions and click Edit.

  3. Locate the user or group who needs permissions and select Use All Packages.

  4. Click Save.

The permissions are set and the user can now use all skills within the studo.

Setting package level permissions for skills

  1. From the Studio, locate the package and click the options icon and then Permissions.

  2. Locate the user or group who needs permissions and select Use Package.
