On-premise extractor (legacy) system requirements

Here's a list of system requirements for on-premise SAP Extractor (legacy), Automation Agent (legacy), and JDBC extractor.

Tip

Unless you're using an older version of SAP, 4.6C or earlier or you use PO/PI, we recommend installing the SAP Extractor as part of the on-prem client installation process. See On-premise clients (OPC).

Hardware requirements

  • Virtual machine or physical server.

  • CPU: Minimum of an Intel Xeon processor with four cores.

  • RAM: minimum of 16 GB.

  • Disk space: minimum of 110 GB. This can be on a separate partition or network drive.

  • The server needs to be located in the same network as the source systems that you're going to connect.

Operating system and software requirements

Note

The operating system listed below are only suggestion. You may use any operating system which is capable of running Java 17 or later.

  • You need administrative rights for setup.

  • 64-bit operating system:

    • Windows Server: 2019 and 2022. The earliest supported version is 2012 R2.

    • Ubuntu: 18.04 LTS (tested version). Newer versions are supported.

    • Red Hat: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (tested version). Newer versions are supported.

    • SUSE: SUSE Enterprise Linux (SLES) 12 and 15 (tested version). Newer versions are supported.

    • Oracle: Oracle Linux 6 and 7 (tested version). Newer versions are supported.

  • Java: we support versions from 17 to 21 and we recommend using the newer version if possible.

  • For SAP ECC, on Windows install both of these Visual C++ packages:

    Note

    We recommend that you download and install these specific versions of both packages. Other versions of these packages may not include some libraries required for the proper running of on-prem clients.

  • For the JDBC Extractor, on Windows download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable Package (x64).
