Action - Email: Open prefilled draft
Skills Deprecation
Effective August 1st 2025, Skills features can no longer be purchased as part of a Celonis Platform license. Celonis continues to maintain Skills (by fixing bugs and ensuring that performance remains strong) but no further feature development will take place.
To continue working with your process improvement and automation use cases, we suggest using our Action Flows, Views, and/or Orchestration Engine features.
The Open prefilled draft action allows you to automate the creation of outbound emails directly from a Signal. When triggered, it opens your local email client with a pre-configured recipient, subject line, and message body, enabling quick communication with stakeholders like suppliers or customers to resolve process blockers.
Before configuring this action, ensure:
You have an active Action Engine skill set up.
A default email client (e.g., Outlook, Apple Mail) is installed and configured on your local machine.
You have identified the specific placeholders or data attributes from your Signal that you wish to include in the email body.
To configure this action:
Select the Action Type: In your Skill configuration, navigate to the Action configuration section and choose Email: Open prefilled draft from the dropdown menu.
Configure Recipients: Enter the email address(es) for the recipient(s). You can use static addresses or dynamic placeholders to route the email based on the Signal's data.
Define the Subject Line: Provide a clear, concise subject line. Including a unique identifier (like an Incident ID or PO Number) via placeholders is recommended for better tracking.
Compose the Draft Text: Enter the body of the email. Use this space to request information or provide instructions.
Save and Test: Save your Skill. Open a Signal and click the action button to ensure your email client opens correctly with all fields populated.
