Celonis Product Documentation

Slack (Skills)

Celonis Process Automation enables users to send messages through Slack.

Skills Deprecation

From October 2, 2023, Skills with an equivalent Action Flow module won't be available in teams by default. They'll still work in your existing apps, you just can't use them in new ones. We encourage you to use Action Flows going forward. If you can't move to Action Flows right now, or there's a particular Skill that you rely on, contact the support team.

Supported Actions

Celonis Process Automation currently supports the following actions for Slack:

Send Message
  1. Connection (required): Add a new connection by signing in with Slack OR select "Set connection before execution" to allow the user to sign in with their Slack Account on the execution page.

  2. Channel OR User (required): Define to whom or to which channel this message will be sent.

  3. Message Text (required): Define which message should be sent. You can format your message (see Slack’s formatting help guide).

  4. As User (optional): Select whether to send message as user (Yes) or as bot (No), default Yes.

  5. Bot Username (optional): Define bot username. If As User is Yes, this will be ignored.

  6. Link Names (optional): Select whether you mention links in your message (Yes) or not (No). (Example: If Yes '@jdoe' text will be linked to jdoe user or channel.)

Set value before execution

Required inputs which are not defined in the Skill settings, will be shown as inputs on the execution page.
