Migrating Analyses to Studio

In Studio, you can create an Analysis in order to visualize your as-is process and analyze the underlying data.

In case you were doing so before either in Celonis 4 or in Process Analytics, we offer you easy ways to migrate your existing analyses from:

Celonis offers additional benefits of a low-code development environment as compared to Celonis 4 and Process Analytics, such as high flexibility in the organization of the content and permission management, Package and Analysis-level Versioning, and a new and advanced PQL Editor.

Comparison: Process Analytics vs. Studio

The Analysis asset is fully integrated with Studio. Not only can you create new Analyses in Studio but can also easily migrate your existing analyses from Process Analytics to Studio.

Process Analytics

Studio

Organizing content and granting permissions

Two organizational objects: Workspace, Tag

Workspace

  • Can be used to set permissions.

  • Groups several Analyses (only Analyses can be created in a Workspace).

  • Always linked to one data model.

  • Can group Analyses only from the same data model.

Tag

  • Used to group several Analyses.

  • Cannot be used to grant permissions.

Three organizational objects: Space, Package, Folder

Space

  • Groups several packages.

  • Can be used to set permissions.

Package

  • Can be used to set permissions.

  • Allows you to create all assets i.e. Analyses, Knowledge Models, Views and Skills.

  • Groups (or packages together) several asset types that logically belong together, that can be several Analyses as well as additionally Views, Knowledge Models or Skills.

  • Enables each asset to be linked to a data model.

Folder

  • Used to group several assets, e.g. Analyses.

  • Cannot be used to grant permissions.

Accessing an Analysis

  • User navigates to a Workspace.

  • To open an Analysis, the user double clicks on the Analysis tile.

  • The user is taken to the Analysis in full-screen mode.

  • User navigates to a Package.

  • To open an Analysis, the user clicks on the name of an Analysis in the navigation tree.

  • The navigation tree on the left can be folded or unfolded as well as pin / unpinned respectively.

Publishing and Versioning

  • Each individual Analysis is published.

  • The user can revert their draft back to the last published version.

  • The whole package is published with the possibility to revert back to all previously published package versions. Individual assets (e.g. analyses) can be excluded from publishing.

  • With the Analysis asset history, the user can revert back to previous auto-saved drafts of the analysis, allowing to undo and redo changes for each individual analysis.

Central maintenance of KPIs (Saved Formulas)

  • Each analysis allows to create "Saved Formulas", that can be reused within the same Analysis. Not across several Analyses.

Note

An Analysis is either linked to one data model OR linked to one Knowledge Model. A Knowledge Model is always linked to one data model.
